Description

Who is it for?

This is for any and all who care for children and work as child care professionals, such as child minders, au pairs, pre-school workers and parents. This is an Ofsted approved certificate and will certificate you for 3 years.

 

Duration: Day Course

 

What you will learn?

  • Understanding the role of the First Aider, including use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions.
  • Understanding the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures.
  • Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure.
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation adults, young children and babies.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.
  • Objects in the eyes and nose.
  • Extreme hot and cold temperature reactions.
  • Sickness and fever.
  • Meningitis.
  • Broken bones.
  • Head, neck and back injuries.
  • Ingested poisons and obstructions.
  • Adult First Aid.

There are practical assessment and written assessments throughout the course. Successful students will receive a 3 year certificate (The HSE and all first aid training providers now recommend an annual refresher of 3-4 hours) This is not mandatory.

 

We also included a unaccredited AED Operator training.

Our first aid training for schools and paediatric emergency courses includes certification, a First Aid manual for each student, reminder alerts to advise when your certificates need updating/refreshing, and a CPR face shield for each student. 

 

We run first aid training for schools from our training centre in Southampton, as well as meeting rooms across Hampshire. We can also visit your school or college regardless of where you are in the UK. Corporate rates are available for 4+ students, so don’t forget to check out our corporate packages for more information. Our paediatric emergency first aid courses are ongoing all of the time.
